GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A fire at a Green Bay restaurant caused about $25,000 worth of damage.
Green Bay firefighters were dispatched to Chili’s restaurant, located at 2363 W. Mason Street, just before 1 p.m. for a report of fire in the wall.
Upon arrival, crews found no visible smoke or flames from the outside of the building, however, once inside, they saw a light haze in the dining room and thicker smoke in the kitchen area.
The fire was located near the slop sink at the back of the restaurant.
Crews extinguished the fire within a couple of minutes and to ensure the fire had not spread further, they had to remove wall paneling and ceiling tiles.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was deemed accidental by the Fire Marshal present at the scene.
