APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Appleton residents can learn more about the school district’s proposed April 7 operational referendum at a number of upcoming public sessions.
Earlier this month, the Board of Education voted unanimously to put an operational referendum on the April 7, 2026, ballot.
The referendum question will ask voters to approve $15 million per year for four years to maintain current district operations, programs and services and prevent cuts or reductions caused by funding shortfalls while expanding support for student mental health and students living in poverty.
Each community session will include a presentation outlining the details of the referendum, followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and engage in discussion.
