WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Menasha man is facing his fourth OWI offense following a high-speed chase across two counties.
On Monday, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a vehicle pursuit that had occurred in Outagamie County involving the Wisconsin State Patrol which reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
A short time later, officers with the Waupaca Police Department and Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office were notified the vehicle was in the Waupaca area by using FLOCK cameras.
The vehicle was located in the city of Waupaca.
When a deputy and officer attempted making contact with the vehicle, it intentionally rammed both of their squads then drove away.
A responding officer pursued the vehicle for approximately a half a mile through the city of Waupaca until the suspect crashed into a tree with the suspect vehicle stopping just before it hit a residence.
Kyle Lee Eith, 37, was taken into custody after receiving medical treatment.
He is charged with his fourth OWI offense, Fleeing, 1st Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, Felony Bail Jumping, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, Failing to Install an Ignition Interlock Device and Operating after Revocation as well as a Probation Violation and other non-criminal traffic offenses.
No one was hurt during the incident and minimal damage occurred to the victim’s property and patrol squads.
