ANTIGO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Allouez man has been charged with 12 counts for allegedly meeting a 13-year-old girl for sex.
William Waterstradt, 21, faces counts in Langlade County including second-degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement and use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime. A $500,000 cash bond has been set for Waterstradt, who is due back in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
Prosecutors allege Waterstradt met a 13-year-old girl on Snapchat last year, where they exchanged nude photographs before meeting in person to have sex.
The complaint states the victim disclosed to police several incidents of sexual intercourse with a person she believed to be “Connor O’Neill,” age 17. They met on Snapchat and exchanged photographs that grew increasingly explicit.
In the complaint, the victim said she told Waterstradt that she was 13 years old and that she “expected that he would limit or cut off contact, but that he continued with no issues.”
The complaint states the victim detailed three separate times that “Connor” came to Langlade County to have sex with her, including an incident where he allegedly gave her beer, and another incident where the complaint said he took more explicit photographs of her.
According to the complaint, detectives were able to determine that “Connor” was a false identity. Through Snapchat, emails, photographs, and location data, the complaint says detectives were able to identify “Connor” as Waterstradt. The complaint also states that a detective found 8 different accounts that Waterstradt claimed to be 16-17 years old under the guise of “Connor.”
The complaint also includes messages attributed to Waterstradt where he allegedly acknowledged the victim was 13.
Waterstradt is a former track and field athlete at Marquette University, having last competed during the 2024-25 school year.
