WINNECONNE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A traffic stop in Winneconne uncovered drugs and cash.
Police say they have been monitoring a suspected drug house in the village by doing extra patrols in that particular area. Officials did not provide the address.
They learned the registered owner of a vehicle parked outside the suspected drug house was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest.
An on-duty patrol officer saw the vehicle driving on E. Main St and conducted a traffic stop.
The registered owner of the vehicle, who is not from the Winneconne area, was arrested on his warrant. The female passenger of the vehicle, who is a Winneconne resident, was detained while a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted.
As a result, cocaine, ketamine, psilocybin, a vast array of marijuana products, numerous forms of drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash were all seized.
The individuals claimed they were enroute to Chicago to hand out pamphlets for a work function, police say.
Both individuals were booked into the Winnebago County Jail on several charges which will be forwarded to the Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office for their review and charging decision.
