GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Community members will have a chance to say goodbye to four Green Bay elementary schools that are set to close this spring.
The Green Bay Area Public School District is hosting open houses at Elmore, Kennedy, Langlade and MacArthur Elementary Schools “honoring the lasting impact these schools have had on so many lives.”
The schedule for Sunday, May 3, is as follows:
- 10 a.m. to noon: MacArthur, located at 1331 Hobart Drive
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Kennedy, located at 1754 Ninth Street
- Noon to 2 p.m.: Elmore, located at 615 Ethel Avenue
- 1-3 p.m.: Langlade, located at 400 Broadview Drive
“These open houses are an opportunity for current and former students, staff, families, neighbors and community members to come together, reconnect and take one last walk through the halls before the schools close at the end of the school year,” a news release from GBAPS states.
We recognize that these schools hold many memories, and we hope this time together allows space to reflect, celebrate and say goodbye as a community.
Each school will also host student and family celebrations prior to the end of the school year.
