ONEIDA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — In the wake of recent ICE activity across the country, the Oneida Nation Business Committee has clarified ID requirements for members.
The nation clarified that Oneida identification cards meet federal ID standards, even though some ICE agents have not accepted tribal ID as a valid document.
Oneida Nation says it condemns the actions of ICE and that its agents are not welcome onto the reservation, although it is not possible to ban them from the reservation.
Oneida recommends that members keep their tribal ID with them at all times.
