OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — UW-Oshkosh will host two community listening sessions to help decide the direction the university takes in the future.
The dates and locations of the sessions are as follows:
Wednesday, January 14
- At the Becket’s Restaurant Atrium, 2 Jackson Street, Oshkosh
- From 4 to 6 p.m.
Organizers plan on having an hour-long discussion followed by a reception.
Thursday, January 22
- At the Appleton Public Library, 200 N. Appleton Street, Appleton
- From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Organizers are still planning details for the Appleton event.
Participants are welcome to share their perspective on how the university can support talent development in the area, and contribute to innovation, civic vitality, and economic growth.
Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Ed Martini said, “These listening sessions reflect UW-Oshkosh’s deep commitment to partnership, transparency and shared purpose.” He added the university’s success is connected to the voices and needs of the communities it serves.
These upcoming sessions follow on the first phase of the Oshkosh Infinite strategic planning process. During that phase in fall 2025, UW-Oshkosh leadership hosted internal listening sessions, sent out surveys and hosted governance forums with students, faculty, and staff.
The final plan is expected to be released in fall.
