GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Green Bay man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly threating to ‘shoot up’ a local bank.
Just before 10 a.m., police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Western Avenue “for a subject wanted on a warrant related to terroristic threats,” according to Green Bay Police Department Operations Commander Shannon Seymer-Tabaska.
The man had reportedly made a phone call saying he was going to “shoot up a bank” in a surrounding jurisdiction.
GBPD’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were called to the scene to assist patrol officers with the arrest.
Schools in the area were notified and some went into lockdown out of precaution.
Around 1 p.m., the 27-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Brown County Jail. An investigation is ongoing. Police say charges will be referred to the Brown County District Attorney’s Office.
No one was injured in the incident.
