OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — More than 150 people will be out of a job come spring, when UW-Oshkosh’s food service provider ends its contract with the school.
Elior, Inc. filed a notice Monday with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. The company said it “will be forced to conduct layoffs” due to the contract ending.
“All 155 affected employees have been notified of their separation dates and that their separation from employment will be permanent,” the notice states.
The layoffs will take effect May 17, 2026 — the day after UWO’s spring commencement.
A statement from a UW-Oshkosh spokesperson said:
Elior has chosen not to take part in the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s current, ongoing food services vendor selection process. The company’s contract was already set to conclude next spring.
Elior’s decision will not affect UWO students, faculty or staff. UW-Oshkosh will have a new dining services provider in place next spring to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted service for our campus community and guests.
