OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new resident may be taking up space at the site of the old Park Plaza Mall in Oshkosh.
Tuesday night, the Oshkosh City Council discussed the possible purchase of City Center downtown.
It’s considered a possible new location for City Hall.
The city is also looking into other options, including renovating the existing city hall or building a new one.
“We know that this building is a very old and outdated building. It could be that the best option is to renovate this structure and stay here for the next 50 to 70 years. It is a viable option and it could be a good option. We’re also looking at other options – is there additional land or additional vacant space or space we could acquire that would make more sense?” said Oshkosh mayor, Matt Mugerauer.
The mayor says there’s no timeline on the city hall decision.
It’s expected to cost between $35-$40 million.
