GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A suspect is in custody after allegedly stabbing two men on Green Bay’s east side.
Police were called to the 2100 block of Basten Street, near Danz Park, just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person armed with a knife.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found an 18-year-old man and a 56-year-old man, both Green Bay residents, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the stabbing. The victims said the suspect “had fled into a nearby wooded area in possession of multiple weapons.”
The Green Bay Police Department deployed its SWAT team, K9 unit and crisis negotiation team to the scene, with assistance from the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Appleton Police Department.
Just before 8 p.m., the suspect was arrested near N. Danz Avenue and Basten Street after attempting to flee from officers. He has been identified only as a 77-year-old Green Bay man.
An investigation is ongoing.
