OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Isaias Cupino, the Oconto Falls doctor accused of generating child pornography, pleaded not guilty to federal charges Wednesday.
Also Wednesday, state charges against him were dismissed in favor of the federal case.
In the federal case, Cupino allegedly took pictures and videos of a naked juvenile, according to the criminal complaint. The charges are production of child pornography, transportation of child pornography, and possession of child pornography
A Dec. 1 trial date was scheduled Wednesday. The trial is expected to last three-to-four days, Asst. U.S. Attorney Tim Funnell said.
If convicted of all three counts, he faces 20-to-60 years in prison.
Cupino is currently being held in custody, and will be turned over to federal authorities by Oconto County.
