John R. Sloan (Wisconsin DOC)
(WTAQ-WLUK) — A man was sentenced for distributing more than 20 pounds of methamphetamine in the Fox Valley area.
John R. Sloan, 58, formerly of Kaukauna, was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
According to court records, in August 2024, investigators with the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group – Drug Unit (“LWAM”) searched Sloan’s vehicle, residence, and multiple storage units.
In total, investigators seized over seven pounds of methamphetamine, over $140,000 cash, four firearms, and a vehicle.
Sloan later admitted to obtaining large quantities of methamphetamine from a source of supply in California. He further admitted to distributing more than 20 pounds of methamphetamine in the Fox Valley area.
Sloan has over 40 prior criminal convictions dating back to 1985. At the time of the offense, Sloan was on state supervision for a distribution of methamphetamine conviction.
In addition to the prison term, Senior United States District Judge William C. Griesbach ordered Sloan to forfeit to the government $142,190, three handguns, a shotgun, and a 2016 Dodge Challenger.
