(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers reached 30 games over the .500 mark with a 7-1 win Tuesday over the Pittsburgh Pirates at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
That runs the current winning streak to 10 straight games.
Brice Turang and Christian Yelich hit homers, and veteran Jose Quintana claimed his 10th victory of the season.
Yelich talked about the Brewers staying focused.
He said that no one cares what they’ve doen to date. The team just needs to keep moving forward.
He said the playiers aren’t talking the the win streaks.
But come on, 2 10-game winning streaks?
Milwaukee now leads the Chicago Cubs by six-and-a-half games in the standings.
Freddy Peralta starts Tuesday’s second game of the series tonight.
Pittsburgh will counter with Paul Skenes.
Collins named NL player of the week: Brewers outfielder Isaac Collins was again recognized by MLB.
Collins was named National League Player of the Week after he hit .476 with five extra-base hits and eight RBI during a pair of sweeps for Milwaukee.
Collins in the third Brewer to take home the award this season after William Contreras and Christian Yelich.
