FRANKLIN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in a Manitowoc County crash that killed a motorcyclist and injured another.
First responders were called to the two-motorcycle crash around 8:27 p.m. Friday on County Highway G, north of Taus Road in the town of Franklin.
Deputies say the two motorcycles, driven by 54-year-old Tobin Rueckl of De Pere and a 30-year-old Brillion man, were going north when Rueckl lost control of his motorcycle and caused the other motorcycle to lose control. Rueckl was ejected from his motorcycle and died at the scene of the crash.
The other driver suffered significant injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Neither driver was wearing a helmet, deputies say.
