STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police are alerting the Sturgeon Bay community about an odd scam targeting local businesses.
On July 17, two males went to an area business and claimed they’re working on the prop crew for a Paramount Pictures film project. The men said they need old electronics equipment and distributed a flyer asking for things like machinery, electrical wire and tools.
Authorities do not have any vehicle information for the scammers because they parked far away from the business. An officer attempted to contact the cell phone number listed on the flyer, but it is not a valid number.
