GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Four people and multiple animals are displaced after an east side Green Bay house fire.
Around 1:38 a.m. Monday, crews were called to 1227 Stuart Street for a report of visible smoke coming from the roof of a two-story home.
Occupants safely evacuated the home before firefighters’ arrival.
There was heavy smoke and high heat on the second floor in the attic.
Firefighters brought it under control within 20 minutes. Crews remained on scene for over an hour conducting overhaul, ventilation, air monitoring, and ensuring no hot spots remained.
No one was hurt.
Multiple animals were located inside the house. They all appeared to be okay.
The American Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the displaced family and is coordinating support services.
The Fire Marshal’s office remains on scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. It caused about $75,000 worth of damage.
