Pavement failures lead to road closures in extreme heat

ASHWAUBENON (WTAQ-WLUK) — The extreme heat is adding extreme stress to area roadways.

Ashwaubenon Public Safety is cautioning drivers to be aware of pavement failures on roadways due to the extreme heat.

Holmgren Way was shut down between Pilgrim and Willard along the Bay Park Square Mall Sunday evening due to the extreme heat causing the pavement to fail.

Temperatures in the area on Sunday tied a record high of 94 degrees.

Motorists were being advised to find alternate routes.
