KIMBERLY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The future of police protection in Kimberly will be discussed in closed session Monday by the Village Board, but no action is expected.
Kimberly currently co-funds the Fox Valley Metro Police Department with Little Chute, but is considering leaving that department and contracting with the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department for services.
According to the agenda for the Monday meeting, “The village board will meet pursuant to State Statute 19.85(1)(g) to confer with legal counsel and (1)(e) to conduct specific public business in which competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session related to police services. The board will reconvene into open session pursuant to section 19.85(2) of the Wisconsin Statutes to share survey results and discuss the next steps in the process; however, no action on the police service agreement regarding Fox Valley Metro Police Department is anticipated.”
The board meets at 5 p.m. in the Municpal Complex, 515 W. Kimberly Avenue.
