BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A project to improve the Fox River State Recreational Trail rolls on.
The trail is in the process of being repaved with asphalt between the trailhead, at the intersections of Porlier Street and Adams Street in the Green Bay and six miles south to Heritage Road in De Pere.
On Thursday, officials provided an update to the repaving and closure schedule. All dates are subject to change, depending on weather delays.
No marked detours will be provided. Trail users should plan ahead and respect equipment operators as they complete the repairs.
Village of Allouez Storm Water Pipe Replacement
The trail will be closed to all users from 7 a.m. June 9 until 3 p.m. June 13, between Lazarre Avenue and the old Mariner Motel near the intersection of Riverside Drive and St. Joseph Street.
Heavy equipment and an open cut in the trail for pipe replacement mean there will be no access through this area.
Phase 2 Resurfacing
Two sections of the trail will be under construction until June 20.
Phase two covers the section from Porlier Pier in Green Bay to Marine Steet in Allouez, and Lazarre Avenue in Allouez to the Fox Point Boat Landing in De Pere.
The trail will be closed from through June 6 for milling and paving activities. The trail will not be fully closed for other construction activities, but officials recommended using other sections of the trail until construction is complete.
Phase 3 Resurfacing
Two sections of the trail will be under construction from June 26 to July 23.
Phase three covers the trail section from William Street to the Fox Point Landing in De Pere, and Lazarre Avenue to Marine Street in Allouez.
The trail will be closed from June 30 to July 3 for milling and paving. The trail will not be fully closed for other construction activities, but officials recommended using other sections of the trail until construction is complete.
