MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Menasha police are warning residents about a scam text message circulating in the community.
The message falsely claims that your driver’s license or vehicle registration is about to be suspended and urges you to click on a link.
Menasha police say you should not click on the link as it’s a scam designed to steal your personal information.
The Wisconsin DOT and law enforcement agencies do not contact individuals by text message for these types of notifications.
If you receive one of these messages or are unsure about whether a communication is legitimate, call the Menasha Police Department at (920) 967-3500 before taking any action.
