GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A longtime member of the Green Bay Police Department has accepted a new role in Sun Prairie.
Operations Commander Kevin Warych was selected to serve as the next chief of police for the Sun Prairie Police Department. Warych has been with GBPD for more than 20 years.
“I’m excited for this opportunity, but I won’t forget all the relationships and people who shaped me into being who I am. I am forever grateful for the City of Green Bay, GBPD, and this incredible community,” said Warych in a Facebook post Thursday from the Green Bay Police Department. “I want to sincerely thank the Police and Fire Commission for their trust in me, and I’m incredibly appreciative of the warm welcome my wife Melissa, our three children, and I have received from city staff.”
“While we’re sad to see him go, we’re incredibly proud of his accomplishments and excited for what’s ahead in this new leadership role,” GBPD said. “CONGRATULATIONS Kevin! Sun Prairie is lucky to have you!”
