OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Construction resumes Monday on 8.8 miles of Highway 54 between New London and Shiocton.
Crews are resurfacing the road and repairing storm sewers, replacing a culvert and upgrading curb ramps.
The work zone stretches from just west of House Road in the town of Liberty to Park Avenue in Shiocton. Road closures begin in June, with construction wrapping up in late August. Traffic will be detoured onto highways 76, S and M.
A second road project begins next month. Crews will be resurfacing 8.6 miles of Highway 47 between Highway B in Black Creek and the Outagamie-Shawano county line. While Highway 47 will remain open, there will be lane closures and flagging.
The work is the completion of projects that began last year. The total cost for the project is $10.3 million.
