DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The De Pere Health Department will be giving away a weather radio and an emergency preparedness guide to City of De Pere residents free of charge.
To be able to receive the resources, residents must visit the health department’s building and bring proof of their residence within city limits.
Both items will be offered on Tuesday, April 8 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with a limit of one radio and one resource guide per household.
The radio offered is a FosPower Emergency NOAA Weather Radio that are equipped with AM/FM radio and weather alerts. Each radio has been pre-programmed to the NOAA weather frequency for the De Pere area to ensure residents receive well-timed alerts for their area.
In addtion, the “What To Do When Disaster Threatens” emergency prep guide offers information and resources to help those planning for a variety of emergency situations.
“Severe Weather Awareness Week serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of being prepared for severe weather events and other emergencies. By offering these preparedness tools, the De Pere Health Department aims to empower residents to take proactive steps to ensure their safety and well-being during times of crisis,” Deputy Health Officer and Public Health Preparedness Coordinator Sara Lornson said.
