FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Eric Perry was sentenced Monday to 50 years in prison for his role in the 2021 shooting death of Benzel Rose, 26.
Perry, 31, previously pleaded no contest to second-degree intentional homicide and other charges for the incident.
In addition to prison, he was placed on extended supervision for 20 years by Judge Tricia Walker.
Perry’s co-defendant Julius Freeman was sentenced to life in prison for his part in Rose’s murder. Freeman can first ask for parole after 35 years.
According to the criminal complaint, Freeman and Perry killed Rose on Oct. 17, 2021, during an armed robbery in the 300 block of 8th Street. Prosecutors say the pair took cash and a gun from Rose before Perry shot him in the head.
