CHILTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A ribbon-cutting Sunday officially opened the expansive new addition to Chilton Area Catholic School in Chilton.
Following Mass, the ribbon was cut on the $3.7 million project that took about a year to complete.
The new additions to the school include a gymnasium, cafeteria and media-resource center. Those in attendance were able to tour the new additions.
The construction more than doubles the size of the 3K-8th grade school, and officials say was a long time coming.
“This construction journey itself actually started in 2002. The building was redone but we couldn’t do everything and we had a to-do list and that become phase two, which you’re standing in today,” said one school official.
School officials say the additional 15,530 square feet was needed to accommodate the growing student population, and to be able to offer more services.
