TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Officials haven’t been able to confirm the status of several pets inside a Two Rivers home when it caught fire Thursday afternoon.
Around 3:30 p.m., the Two Rivers Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 2300 block of Monroe Street.
Crews arrived on scene and found “a significant exterior fire” at a duplex residence. Firefighters worked to quickly extinguish the flames before the blaze could spread further into the structure.
Police evacuated all occupants from the residence and no injuries were reported. However, the fire resulted in the displacement of residents.
During searches of the structure, firefighters were unable to locate pets that were reported to have been inside the apartment at the time of the fire. Their status remains unknown.
Authorities say the fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
