FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new transfer agreement between two Fond du Lac schools is making it easier for students to pursue a collegiate education.
The presidents of Moraine Park Technical College and Marian University met Thursday to sign the agreement.
It enables MPTC students earning an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science liberal arts degree to transfer to Marian University at a confirmed junior status. The completion of the AA or AS degree fulfills the general education requirements for any bachelor’s degree program at Marian University, allowing students to focus solely on their major.
“Marian University is our neighbor, and we are thrilled to collaborate in providing a robust educational opportunity right here in Fond du Lac and throughout our district,” said MPTC President Bonnie Baerwald.
Our goal is to ensure students in our district have access to affordable, high-quality education, and the continued expansion of our transfer agreements reinforces that commitment.
As part of this transfer agreement, students who complete an AA or AS degree at MPTC can transfer all credits earned as part of their degree (a minimum of 60 credits) directly to Marian University. Additional credits earned outside the program curricula will be evaluated individually.
The two schools have several complementary programs, including nursing, business, construction management, education and criminal justice.
“Together, we are making it easier for students to continue their education, advance their careers, and contribute to the Fond du Lac community and beyond,” said Marian University President Aaron Sadoff. “This partnership is about more than transferring credits — it’s about empowering students to become future leaders and citizens for the world. We’re better together.”
