MADISON – The Volunteers for Agriculture® (VFA®), the political action committee of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, has endorsed judge and former Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel for Wisconsin State Supreme Court.
“Judge Schimel has demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the judicial system and understanding of the unique challenges often facing Wisconsin agriculture and family farms,” said Door County Farm Bureau member and VFA Chair Austin Vandertie. “Wisconsin farmers recognize Schimel’s leadership and believe he is the best candidate to serve on the State Supreme Court.”
The VFA previously endorsed Schimel in his campaigns for Wisconsin Attorney General, recognizing his commitment to law and order, his fair and balanced approach to legal matters, and his dedication to the rights of farmers under the law. His experience as the state’s top prosecutor and as a Circuit Court Judge demonstrates a deep understanding of Wisconsin law and reinforces his ability to serve impartially on the Supreme Court.
“Farmers need a fair judge who is committed to upholding the rule of law and applying Wisconsin’s agricultural statutes,” Vandertie added. “Judge Schimel understands that the judiciary’s role is to interpret and apply the law as written. We firmly believe he is the right candidate to uphold fairness, constitutional integrity, and objectivity on the Wisconsin State Supreme Court.”
The Volunteers for Agriculture was established in 1988, formed to give farmers a direct role in electing leaders with agriculture and rural Wisconsin’s interests in mind. The Volunteers for Agriculture Committee is made up of farmers from across the state.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization with members of every farm size, commodity and management style.
