GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — After an overnight standoff, an armed individual who allegedly fired a gun inside a Grand Chute residence, was taken into custody.
Just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, police officers were dispatched to the 600 block of S. Mayflower Drive for a report of a gunshot fired inside a home.
The person who reported the incident was able to get out of the residence on their own, leaving the person who discharged the firearm still inside.
It was reported this individual was armed with multiple guns.
Additional law enforcement officers arrived on scene and established a perimeter.
Outagamie County 911 dispatchers negotiated with the individual inside the residence for several hours.
Eventually officers were able to make contact with the armed individual and just after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, the individual was taken into custody.
Police say this was an isolated incident and the public is not in danger.
The incident remains under investigation.
