GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Texas man who was a victim of a data breach with the Green Bay Packers Pro Shop website has filed suit against the team.
Brian Garcia claims the team “failure to properly secure and safeguard Private Information that was entrusted to it, and its accompanying responsibility to store and transfer that information.”
Garcia filed the suit seeking class action designation, so that others similarly affected may join the suit. It seeks unspecified monetary damages.
The suit was filed last Friday. The team has not formally responded to the suit. No hearings have been scheduled.
The team confirmed in January there had been a data breach in September and October. It offered credit monitoring and identity theft services to those customers.
Transactions at the team store at Lambeau Field were not a part of the breach, the team said.
