MADISON, Wis. — The Dairy Business Association, Wisconsin’s leading dairy advocacy group, celebrates Gov. Tony Evers and the legislature for the strong bipartisan support of the critical infrastructure improvements through the Agricultural Roads Improvement Program.
Legislative efforts led by Sen. Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) and Rep. Travis Tranel (R-Cuba City) gained strong bipartisan support for investing $150 million to upgrade and improve local rural roads, culverts and bridges.
This week, Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced the second round of ARIP award recipients.

“Wisconsin’s dairy farmers rely on a modern, efficient transportation system, from the farm gate to the dinner plate,” Chad Zuleger, DBA director of government affairs, said. “This significant investment in rural Wisconsin ensures that our dairy farmers maintain their competitive edge and remain a highly productive contributor to the state’s economy.”
DBA has prioritized investments in rural infrastructure over the past several budgets. ARIP was a priority issue for DBA in the past and it remains a top priority again in the 2025-27 state budget. Building a lasting agricultural transportation infrastructure is essential for enhancing efficiency and competitiveness in the industry, which has an enormous economic impact across the state.
“Improvements in rural road infrastructure come from working collaboratively with members of the Wisconsin Agricultural Coalition,” Zuleger said. “DBA is proud to be a part of this group and in support of this critical initiative.”
