Downtown Fond du Lac prepares for the Sturgeon Spectacular, February 6, 2025. PC: Fox 11 Online
FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The sturgeon spearing season officially begins this Saturday.
The season lasts 16 days or until any of the sex-specific harvest caps for a specific fishery have ben reached, according to the Wisconsin DNR.
Right alongside with the season is Fond du Lac’s annual Sturgeon Spectacular. This weekend is the 10th year of the event.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday all have a full calendar of events from snow sculpting to curling to eating and shopping downtown.
Admission is free and most events take place around downtown Fond du Lac.
