MAUSTON, Wis. – Cattle producers are invited to the 2025 Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association (WCA) Winter Conference and Annual Meeting, taking place at The Lodge at Mauston on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025.
This premier educational event welcomes both members and non-members. Registration opens at 9:00 a.m., followed by the WCA Annual Meeting at 9:30 a.m. Highlights include:
- National Updates: A report from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association
- Legislative Insights: Updates from WCA Lobbyist Jordan Lamb of The Welch Group
- Board and Committee Reports: Updates from the WCA leadership
There will also be an election for an open seat on the Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association Board of Directors. A WCA Board Member is asked to serve as a link between WCA and affiliate organizations, serve on at least one committee, as well as help grow WCA by recruiting members, securing sponsorships, and supporting fundraisers.
The Winter Conference kicks off with a motivational keynote by Laura Daniels of Hitch Pin Consulting titled ‘Needed Hitch Pins, Why Connecting Matters.’ This session will inspire attendees to appreciate the significance of their work, recognize their own value, and strengthen their industry connections.
After lunch, participants can choose from two breakout sessions:
- ‘Beginning and Aspiring Farmer/Rancher Tips and Tricks’ with Kevin Plante from the Wisconsin Farm Center.
- ‘What’s Your Farm’s Future? Start Making Your Plan’ with Joy Kirkpatrick from the UW-Extension Farm Management Program.
Later sessions include:
- ‘Pasture to Plate: How Feeding Impacts What We Eat’ led by Zeb Gray of Diamond V.
- ‘Defending Your Empire; Secure Beef Supply Planning’ with Bill Halfman and Sandy Stuttgen, DVM, from the UW-Extension Division of Livestock.
The day will wrap up with a networking reception, offering a great chance to connect with peers and industry experts.
