GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay police have arrested a person of interest in a homicide investigation following a deadly stabbing on the city’s west side.
It marked Green Bay’s first homicide of 2025.
On Tuesday, just before 9 p.m., police were called to an apartment in the 1500 block of Capitol Drive for a report of a stabbing.
There are several apartment buildings on that block of Capitol Drive, but one resident of the Georgetown Apartments tells FOX 11 he believes the victim lived on the second floor of his building.
A woman in the Georgetown Apartments’ leasing office said she had no comment, as she was told not to speak about the incident.
According to police, they found 60-year old man dead in his residence. Police haven’t said how the man died, but they have referred to the incident as a stabbing. Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
Shortly before 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, officers located an “identified person of interest” walking around West Mason Street and 12th Avenue. The 34-year-old Green Bay man was taken into custody.
Following interviews with detectives, the man was transported to the Brown County Jail.
