GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Green Bay is on the clock, less than three months until it hosts the 2025 NFL Draft. And with hundreds of thousands of visitors expected in Titletown and the surrounding areas for the the big event, two young entrepreneurs want to promote buying local while also supporting a local non-profit.
From cookie dough and ice cream to cigar bars, pizza, taprooms and bourbon bars – Northeast Wisconsin has a ton of local flavor to show off during the 2025 NFL Draft.
“Being Green Bay born and raised, myself, I thought this was the best opportunity to show people from in town and out of town some of my favorite places and really bring some brand exposure to some of these awesome locally owned businesses,” said Jack Christensen.
He decided to team up with his college friend, Luke Rexing, to create and sell MyDraft Experience, a passport size discount and coupon book exclusive to April 21st through the 28th, when the draft is in town.
According to Rexing, “The booklet includes deals from different participating businesses whether it’s coffee shops, bars, restaurants, anything that offers a product during that time period we want to include in the booklet.”
The pair, which is targeting both Green Bay and the Fox Cities businesses for MyDraft Experience, already has half a dozen businesses committed to offering deals – for passport holders only.
Rosati’s on Green Bay’s far eastside is one of those businesses. It’s going to offer three different deals in the MyDraft Experience booklet, excited for the opportunity.
“You don’t really know how to promote people to get out here because those places in the stadium district don’t even have to promote, they’re just there. So it’s really cool that someone is going the extra length to make sure local businesses that are on the outskirts are getting the word out and everything,” said owner Zach Andrews.
MyDraft Experience won’t just be a benefit for local businesses, Christensen and Rexing are also donating 10% of their proceeds from the sale of the booklets, to Curative Connections, a non-profit that helps aging adults and people with disabilities.
“The financial support is always so incredibly appreciated and needed,” said Kari Moody with Curative Connections. She added, “But even more than that the attention and opportunity to share what we do in the community during the draft in any way shape or form is just remarkable opportunity.”
Truly a win all around for businesses, Curative Connections, and draft visitors alike.
The creators of MyDraft are still looking for businesses to feature in their booklet. Booklets are for sale on their website too.
