OAKFIELD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A fire that started from a wood pellet stove spread to the attic of a Fond du Lac County home, causing significant damage.
Around 7:16 p.m. Wednesday, crews were called to a residence with flames visible at N3319 Oak Center Road in the town of Oakfield.
Prior to arrival, a local resident in the area responded to the scene with a fire extinguisher in an attempt to prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of the house.
When firefighters arrived, the fire had spread to the attic.
Initial investigation shows the fire started from a wood pellet stove on an outside wall.
No one was hurt in the fire.
