GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is making some changes after the recent resurfacing of avian flu in Brown County.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, officials announced that until further notice, Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary will stop selling corn and no longer allow the public to walk around the Raptor Trail. Visitors are asked not to bring corn to the Observation Building parking lot.
Additionally, the sanctuary said it is not admitting waterfowl patients at this time. If you have any waterfowl concerns, contact the Wisconsin DNR’s wildlife hotline at (608) 267-0866.
These restrictions are in an effort to reduce the possible exposure of Bay Beach’s captive birds to any wild birds who may be ill.
