(247NEWSSOURCE) QUEENS, NY – The Mets are adding a veteran arm to their rotation. ESPN reports the team signed Frankie Montas on Sunday to a two-year, 34-million-dollar deal.
The starter had a 4.84 ERA and 148 strikeouts in nearly 151 innings between the Reds and Brewers this past season.
The 31-year-old has a career 4.09 ERA in nine major league seasons.
Montas joins a rotation led by Kodai Senga and David Peterson after Sean Manaea, Luis Severino and Jose Quintana became free agents.
