(ST. NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) MILWAUKEE – St. Norbert College posted its third consecutive shutout but had to settle for a tie after not being able to find the pay window in a 0-0 draw with Milwaukee School of Engineering in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Viets Field.
The Green Knights (5-7-4, 5-3-2 NACC) and Raiders (8-3-5, 7-2-1) were virtually even in shots, with MSOE holding a 13-12 edge. St. Norbert had nine shots on goal to the Raiders’ three. MSOE held a 6-5 nod in corner kicks.
St. Norbert kept pressure on all the way to the end of full time, forcing MSOE goalkeeper Asher Harris to make three of his nine saves in the match’s final nine minutes.
Jonathan Hill had four shots, with all on goal. Payton Schilz took three shots, with one on goal, while Ben Janiszewski had two shots with both on goal.
Nate Jocz made two saves for St. Norbert to register the shutout, while the Green Knights also had a team save.
The result secures St. Norbert an NACC Tournament berth, with the Green Knights currently in fifth. With two games still to play, St. Norbert is just three points outside of the top four.
