GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The three suspects arrested for an east-side Green Bay murder have all appeared in court, but formal charges have not been filed.
Brandon Ramirez, 21, was shot Aug. 7 in the 1200 block of Berner Street. Investigators say someone he knew dropped him off at the hospital, where he died two days later.
Nigel White, 22, and Elijah White, 18, each appeared in court on Wednesday. Elijah White’s bond was set at $750,000 cash. Charges are expected to be filed by an Oct. 8 hearing.
Nigel White’s bond was set at $500,000 cash. Charges are expected to be filed by an Oct. 11 hearing.
Dion Richardson, 18, appeared in court on Monday. A $1 million cash bond was set, jail records show. Charges are expected to be filed by an Oct. 4 court hearing.
Because charges have not been filed, prosecutors submitted a probable cause statement with details on the case and rationale for setting the bond. However, the document was sealed from public view.
Although police requested charges of first-degree intentional homicide, Deputy District Attorney Wendy Lemkuil said the three suspects suggested they have varying levels of involvement.
“They have a different role, and that’s why we’ve asked for a different cash with respect to that,” said Lemkuil said during Elijah White’s hearing Wednesday.
Evidence is still being gathered and sent to the crime lab, she said. But at the least, the Whites face charges of felony murder or being party to the crime of first-degree intentional homicide, she said.
Christopher Froelich, Nigel White’s attorney, pointed to Richardson as being the shooter in the case.
