MOUNTAIN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A woman died in a head-on crash between two SUVs in Oconto County.
It happened Sunday around 5:30 p.m. on State Highway 32 near the intersection of Sparky’s Lane in the town of Mountain.
When crews arrived, a passenger was trapped inside one of the SUVs.
A preliminary investigation revealed a northbound SUV, driven by a 15-year-old girl, with a 54-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman as passengers, all from Tomahawk, were struck by a southbound SUV that entered the northbound lane.
The driver of the southbound SUV, and lone occupant, a 30-year-old Fond du Lac man, was taken to the hospital.
The driver and the male passenger in the northbound vehicle were also taken to area hospitals.
The 51-year-old female passenger died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
