MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Michael Galbraith pleaded not guilty Wednesday in connection with a crash which killed an 8-month-old girl.
No trial date was set. Galbraith, 47, returns to court Nov. 25 for a status conference on one count of homicide by use of a motor vehicle while using a controlled substance for the Oct. 6 crash which killed Alana Price.
Galbraith allegedly pulled out from a stop sign on Kamm Road at U.S. 41, striking another vehicle. The child died a few days after the crash. He said he stopped for the stop sign, but didn’t see the vehicle coming.
A blood draw was performed, and the tests showed Galbraith tested positive for the chemicals in marijuana.
In Wisconsin, motorists can have alcohol in their system up to a certain point and still operate legally. However, no such allowable limits exist for other illegal drugs, and any detectable amounts can result in charges.
