FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two Milwaukee residents were arrested after various drugs and paraphernalia were uncovered during a traffic stop.
According to a news release Monday from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred Aug. 18 when a sergeant pulled over a vehicle on I-41 for equipment violations.
The sergeant detected the odor of marijuana, which lead to a search of the vehicle. Officials said drug paraphernalia and a “small amount” of marijuana were located.
The vehicle’s passenger, a 23-year-old Milwaukee female, claimed possession of these items. She was initially arrested for felony possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.
However, upon arriving at the Fond du Lac County Jail, the woman “stated she had additional drugs concealed on (in) her person.” Jail staff recovered approximately 45 grams of crack cocaine and several Percocet pills, which the woman possessed without a prescription.
As a result, additional charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and a Schedule II narcotic were referred. Her charges carry second and subsequent offense modifiers due to previous drug-related convictions.
The woman is currently out on bond from a Manitowoc County case involving carrying a concealed weapon and possession of MDMA, commonly referred to as ecstasy. She is also currently out on bond from a Marathon County case involving possession of amphetamine/LSD/psilocin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The woman’s bond was set at $5,000 cash and she remains in custody.
Further investigation in the days following the traffic stop determined the vehicle’s driver, a 34-year-old Milwaukee man, was also involved with the possession of the drugs. He had been released by authorities when the female passenger was arrested.
Charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and a Schedule II narcotic, along with possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping, were referred to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office.
The man is also currently out on bond from a Brown County case involving bail jumping and the manufacturing and delivery of cocaine.
