GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — “It’s safer. It’s courteous. It’s the law.”
That’s the message you’ll see depicted on a Green Bay Metro bus for a campaign raising awareness around crosswalk safety.
“Yield to Your Neighbor” is a partnership between Wello and Green Bay Metro that reminds motorists to yield to pedestrians and bicyclists.
To promote this message throughout the greater Green Bay area, Wello fully wrapped a Green Bay Metro bus with the Yield to Your Neighbor logo. It will be on display through Jan. 31, 2025.
“We are thrilled to have a new platform to share the Yield to Your Neighbor message to the people of Brown County,” said Mario Gonzalez, who leads the Yield to Your Neighbor campaign for Wello.
The more opportunities we have to get eyes on this message, the more likely motorists are to be that much more aware of people walking, biking, or using assistive mobility devices especially as our community prepares to see massive crowds for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Yield to Your Neighbor is in its fourth year. It was created in response to a survey Wello conducted in which residents identified bicycle and pedestrian safety as an area to focus on to improve community well-being. The 2024 campaign is supported by an ARPA sub-award from Brown County Public Health.
Wello also conducts countywide crosswalk education and enforcement, or “Frogger” events, in partnership with local law enforcement.
