ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A federal grant is helping Green Bay’s airport prepare for the winter season.
Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) received a $2 million Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s Airport Improvement Program grant to purchase two new pieces of airfield snow removal equipment.
“This is good news to receive ahead of our Wisconsin winter,” said Airport Director Marty Piette. “Keeping our runways open and safe is always a priority and having reliable equipment to keep the snow off the runways is a part of that picture.”
The airport will use the grant to purchase two multifunction airfield snow removal trucks from MB companies of Chilton. Delivery is expected in September 2025, in time for the 2025-2026 winter season.
