(WNFL) – The Atlanta Braves beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-2 at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
The Brewers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning off Braves starting pitcher Chris Sale on a single by Gary Sanchez and a sacrifice fly by Blake Perkins.
That’s all the Brewers would do offensively as they managed eight hits.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said the team has to focus on playing well.

Audio PlayerAtlanta tied the game off of Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta with home runs by Matt Olson and Travis d’Arnaud.
Peralta said that it was just one of those games.
Audio PlayerAtlanta took a 4-2 lead in the seventh inning on a single by Austin Riley off Elvis Peguero that scored Jarred Kelenic and Whit Merrifield.
The Braves made it 6-2 in the eighth on home runs by Olson and d’Arnaud off recently acquired reliever Nick Mears.
The Brewers have Thursday off before opening a 3-game weekend series in Washington, D.C. with the Nationals.
Backward glance at the game: Jackson Chourio (2-for-5, 1 2b, 1r) singled and scored in the first inning and doubled in the second inning for his 7th multi-hit effort in his last 10 games…..Chourio is batting .320 (49-for-153) with 11 doubles, 7 HR, 28 RBI and 28 runs over his last 44 games.
Perkins percolating: Blake Perkins (1-for-1, 1 2b, 1rbi, 1bb) robbed Jarred Kelenic of a homer in the fifth inning to keep the game tied at 2-2…..he hit a sacrifice fly in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning…..since the All-Star break, Perkins is batting .500 (6-for-12) in 7 games.
Record breaker: Willy Adames (0-for-4) started his 112th straight game at shortstop today to pass Pat Listach (111g from 6/5-10/3, 1992) for the second-longest streak in franchise history from the position…..the franchise record for consecutive starts at shortstop is 207 games by Robin Yount from 9/11/75-5/12/77.
