MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person is in custody after a traffic stop in Marinette resulted in the seizure of cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms.
According to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop Friday for an equipment violation. During the stop, the deputy developed probable cause to search the vehicle for narcotics.
Officials say 167 grams of suspected cocaine and 8.4 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms — commonly known as “magic mushrooms” or shrooms — were seized.
One person was arrested. The suspect’s name is being withheld, pending formal charges from the Marinette County District Attorney.
