MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man who went to a Manitowoc park believing he was meeting a teen for sex was sentenced to five years on probation.
Heath Grebe, 36, pleaded no contest to attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child and using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime for the Sept. 25 incident at Lincoln Park. He also must register as a sex offender, court records show.
He was convicted and sentenced Wednesday.
According to the probable cause statement, police were called to Lincoln Park for a report of someone there planning to meet a 13-year-old for sex. Police reviewed text messages between Grebe and the teen, in which the man describes a variety of sexual acts he would like to engage in.
Police dispatch was notified of the meeting by a group called “Bikers Against Predators,” the probable cause statement says.
